A mentor is a person who seeks to promote the development of the potential of others through the management of learning individually, in such a way that they can overcome challenges and difficulties at a professional and personal level. Through motivation, knowledge, experiences and own skills, the aim is to adequately define the objectives to be achieved and the most appropriate path to achieve it. Thinking as a mentor has great advantages because it helps to grow and boost business, leaving behind the fears and negative attitudes that hinder the success of our projects, that is why in this article we are going to know some of these benefits.

Open your mind to new ideas

Many times when facing a problem, we limit our perspective to a single idea, where only one way to the expected solution is found and it is not exactly feasible or simple. By opening our minds to new ideas and thinking “out of the box” we begin to visualize different ways to achieve the set goal, although they may seem far-fetched and unlikely, they may possibly offer a way to get where we want to go in a creative, simple way and funny. Brainstorming, writing loose thoughts, sketching diagrams, can be some ways to clear the mind of the only solution that has been set and relax to see the problem from another perspective and get used to working in this way.

Use experience to break patterns

In our daily life, we can maintain patterns or have predetermined ways to face different situations that can be limiting. By thinking as a mentor, we can use the experience gained in past events to learn the lessons and avoid making the same mistakes, to get out of toxic relationships and face with greater emotional intelligence those problems that compromise our balance and evolution.

The focus is to succeed

A mentor is not satisfied with mediocrity but seeks to achieve tangible objectives in the best possible way, guiding and directing actions in search of personal and professional growth. So the main focus is to achieve success, this does not mean that you have to be a slave to work and forget about distractions, it is about achieving a balance between enjoyment and responsibilities, without losing sight of the goal you want to achieve.

 Allows constant growth and training

Starting a venture or project involves many areas where we may not have all the required training, and becoming an expert in all subjects is quite difficult, which involves time and dedication, however, this does not mean that you should neglect and ignore the lines of work that are related to our project. So it is necessary to study, know, discover and not limit yourself when incorporating new knowledge into our lives.

Think about your team

A mentor uses his experience to help others overcome difficulties that he has already gone through and with his knowledge, offers guidance to make the path easier for others. Thinking as a mentor allows you to support the team in a more realistic way, keeping in mind: knowledge, skills and experiences to help your team grow professionally and personally through advice and inspiration.
