Every day, with less or greater relevance, we make decisions that affect our immediate or long-term future. Choosing between coffee or tea in the morning is not the same as choosing which stocks we are going to invest our money in, for example. That is why those decisions that involve a higher level of risk or responsibility should be better considered. We are going to give you in this article, 5 tips to make better decisions.

Consider all options

Many times there are more than two solutions to a problem, the same thing happens when making a decision. We must analyze the entire environment and consider all the feasible options that we have since we can engage in an alternative because we think that it is the simplest or fastest and we do not consider any other that may bring greater benefits.

View the scenario in each of the options

It is essential to determine how we look and feel in each of the situations, whether we feel happy and comfortable with it, how it affects our present and how it can influence our future. If we do not feel any kind of discomfort or have negative factors, we are on the right track.

Analyze the pros and cons

For each of the options we consider, the ideal thing is to list the pros and cons we have, this should be done objectively and consider the general impact that it would bring with it. Also, they can be listed in order of priority to us and then compare both lists to see which option offers the most benefits for us and best suits our requirements and needs.

Do not give in to external pressure

Many times we make decisions based on the opinion of others even though it goes against our particular interests or tastes or does not make us feel good. We cannot allow ourselves to be led by the opinion of others unless it is professional consultancies with personnel trained in the matter and offer us a vision to realize the situation with the pros and cons of their recommendation. It is not about making others happy with our decisions but about choosing what best suits our needs and our goals, whether personal or professional.

Set time limit

It is also necessary to set a time limit to make the decisions since we may lose great opportunities to stay analyzing the situation and not take action in the face of it. While it is not wise to leave impulsively, it is also not wise to be too passive. So we must establish a deadline to decide what we are going to do and not be paralyzed by fear or uncertainty.
