One of the most recognized entrepreneurs in the world is Steve Jobs, a person worthy of admiration because even when he had had many ups and downs in his life, he adopted in the best way each of his most difficult moments to learn from them and enhance his strengths and thus become the successful person and tycoon that everyone knows, here are some of his rules that can help us to achieve success.

Passion for what we do
When people feel passion for what they do it is very difficult for them to give up when there is some kind of adverse situation, we must really do things for a long time and love what we do to succeed. We must observe well that people who have succeeded, have done it because they have loved and felt passion for what they did, in this way they were able to move forward and persevere when they were in difficult times, on the other hand, we must observe that those who did not love and felt passion for what they did, or have been doing, give up or quit, because who wants to stay in a place where they do not feel at ease and do not love to be there being doing what they do not like. We must be aware that everything in life is achieved with hard work and a lot of effort, if we do not have passion for what we do we will surely fail.
Let’s not do things for money
Steve Jobs in one of his interviews mentions that when he was a young man of 23 years old he had a patrimony of one million dollars which he multiplied after two years, highlighting that by the age of 25 he had around 100 million, however even when he had managed to have that kind of success he commented that it was not so important because he never did the things he did for the money. In this way we can see that this rule is closely related to the previous rule, feel passion for what we do, if we are in the place we want to be and we do things with passion, for sure we will be on the right path to achieve success, and not with this we mean that we should do things for free, but thinking that by doing things for passion we will help many and we will have our good retribution, that is why we allow ourselves to quote Steve Jobs below.
“I think money is a wonderful thing because it allows you to do things, it allows you to invest in ideas that do not have a short term payback and things like that, but especially at that point in my life it was not the most important thing, the most important thing was the company, the people, the products we were going to make and what we were going to allow to be made with those products. So I didn’t think too much about it and I never sold any stock, I just believed that the company would do very well in the long run.”
Let’s not sell junk
When we want to be successful in our professional or personal life or our business, we must be always focused in offering and enhance everything we are good at. Therefore, when we go for a job interview, offer a service, or sell a product, we must always focus in offering our best and discard everything that tarnishes our reputation, we should get rid of the garbage and not even think about offering it. Let’s sell our best product, our best image, our best service, let’s improve it and become specialists in the product or service we offer.
Taking pride in our product
This rule goes hand in hand with the previous one, and we must be aware of what we have to offer, and while it is true that we must be passionate about what we do, we must also be self-critical and set quality standards to offer a good product or service. That is why we must know when we have something we should not offer, once we are aware of what we have been able to produce with our passion and with an acceptable level to offer, it is at that point when we should feel proud of our product, because we already know that what we are offering is made with the best possible quality and we will be proud to compete with the best in the market.
Stay hungry, stay crazy
When Steve Jobs advises us to stay hungry, he means that we would be always keep looking what we love, we must never stay in a place where we are not passionate about what we do, even if we are in a comfort zone, in one way or another it will always be a tipping point or a situation that will make us get out of that comfort quickly because we do not feel completely comfortable being there, we will always be missing something and that is the love and passion for what we do, but we must be perseverant and keep looking for what we love, as if we had never been well, as if we had no experience, only that way we will achieve what we really love. On the other hand, when he says us that we must stay crazy, he means that we must make decisions always thinking about our goals, no matter if the path is different from the one everyone else takes, only if we think and trust in what we want to do and we are totally convinced that at the end of the road everything will be as we have planned, only in that way we will be able to enjoy the road to success, since we will be traveling it our way, according to what our heart desires, passionate and proud with every step we take, even if it is not the usual way and different from the others, since it is what we have decided.
Our time is limited, let’s not waste it
Steve Jobs recommends to make the most of our time, he reminds us that we all have an expiration date, even if this sounds crude to some it is true. Therefore, we must live our life without wasting time living the life of others, or looking for the results or the successes that others want, we must value our work and who we are without wasting time and much less let our dreams stop just because of the people’ s opinions or thoughts about what we do. So, let’s not waste time waiting for the approval of others and let’s be brave in following the path that our heart and intuition point out to us.

Steve Jobs advises us to always be updated, to be hungry for knowledge, filling ourselves with information and innovating, not to stay in the comfort zone believing that our success is already achieved and believing that there is no more to do. On the contrary, he invites us to seek more information about our environment and our market, and we will realize that they will always be in need of something that we will give them, we must always be attentive and prepared to create something new, there is always something new to offer.
