Nowadays, most of us are self-sequestered and tie our hands when it comes to being productive, whether we are employees, owners of our own business, or we are entrepreneurs starting a Project. Everything lies in the fact that we are used to always putting an excuse for the little productive time in the hectic life we lead, and if we have time to spare we fill it with unproductive activities or lengthen the execution times in those tasks that we already have pending to develop. For this reason, we want to share some tips provided by Timothy Ferris to be more productive in our daily lives today and of course during our lifetime.

Tim Ferris

Timothy Ferris is a writer and venture investor who has managed to give a great tool to many people around the world that helps to increase productivity, he has done it through one of his best-seller The 4-work hour week, among other books published by him. It should be noted that he is an advisor and academic at Singularity University, focusing on the acceleration of technology projects that seeks to solve global problems. In addition to being a writer, he is also a venture capitalist in companies as Facebook, Alibaba, Twitter, Uber, among others.

Money alone is useless

It is very common that people submerge their dreams or objectives in just the acquisition of money, by this means that many people think that if they do not have money they cannot meet their objectives and in search of that money to solve their problems they lose the north of their goals, even getting tied to a work routine that only gives them time to rest when getting home, thus robbing them their quality of life and distancing them from their true goals and dream.

In this case, Timothy Ferris advises us not to get carried away by the desire for money and lose our dreams, he leads us to see our day to day in another way to be more productive and thus be able to focus the time gained on creating or carrying out our life goals or dreams. Earning a lot of money is not everything in life, we must know how to differentiate our time dedicated to earning a lot of money and the time dedicated to the realization of our dreams or dedicated to our quality of life. On the other hand, he teaches us to not wait to have a certain amount of money to make decisions or improve our quality of life, on the contrary, he invites us to analyze ourselves and ask ourselves what we can do differently in our lives, to help us get out of the routine to improve our quality of life from now on. Of course, our income is necessary to meet our objectives and goals, but we will also need time to execute them.

Define the tasks and objectives for the day

No matter if we are employees or owners of our business, many times we allow ourselves to be overcome by the time of day, and we cannot fulfill, or we even finish them at the last minute.  This is because many of us do not dedicate time to organize a list of daily tasks, on this matter Timothy advises us to dedicate the first minutes of the day to make a list of tasks and what are the objectives that we want to see fulfilled at the end of the day, this will help us save even hours of work at the end of the day.

Establishing priorities

Many times we believe that being busy is the ideal way to feel important, however, this way of thinking is wrong, Timothy advises us to focus our importance to be less time busy. By this, we mean that being busy all day in the same task does not make us important and much less productive, we must establish priorities in our list of tasks and times of execution for them, in this way we will allow ourselves to move forward in each of the scheduled tasks and so fulfilling each objective proposed for our day. In this way, we can know which tasks are the most important for our day and our productivity, and thus we can avoid entering that vicious cycle in which many of us fall where we perform tasks that are not very productive and much less important with which we are only evading our true responsibility, and we even evade decisions-making to meet the really important goals.
