Leadership is a widely used term at the moment of undertaking a project or being the head of an area, a leader is expected to lead a path to success and be able to provide solutions before the unexpected events that may arise; Leadership could be understood as those skills that a person has to influence the way of thinking or acting of others, sometimes such influence can be negative.
Now, every leader has strengths and weaknesses as any other person, however, due to his position is expected to be “perfect” in some way, to be able to work through those negative traits and provide solutions to be successful, in Routines that will help you achieve success some habits were mentioned that can help a leader to face those weaknesses.
Then, having weaknesses you have blind spots and when leading it is necessary to see what the blind spots are because these do not allow the person to see himself realistically, that is, it is an area in life in which continuously the leader does not see himself, nor its situation as it really is, it is distorted, so it can cause problems around. Insecurity
Most leaders do not assume this blind point, they find it difficult to make them aware because they consider that they would be weak, so they usually limit their outstanding staff, they seek to keep them away for fear that they will show their abilities, that they are better than them, and can overcome them.
Culture
As you grow up the place where you are born, the city where you live, your family and friends will determine your way of thinking, acting and feeling; society and culture will tell you how you should be and as you grow up there will be points that you cannot recognize because you do not have knowledge of them. Therefore, a leader must know or at least try to know how other people can be in order to have effective communication and gain the trust of others.
Extreme ego
An egocentric leader is that selfish person who shows that he knows all things and never makes mistakes, considers that others are not up to him and that the rules have been created only for his subordinates; the serious thing about this type of person is that they are usually rigid and closed-minded, so they do not seek to understand others and only focus on their growth. In leadership, it is important to leave the ego aside and seek empathy with the surrounding people; this gives a better environment and motivates you to work.
The weak character
A leader must be firm in how he expresses himself, behaves and makes decisions in order to gain the respect of others; when a person shows weakness in his character he may lose business opportunities or growth, so he must make use of the right values on a daily basis, being sure of what he says and the path he takes.
Let things go
In some way, this point seems to be linked to the previous one because, some leaders out of fear or weakness, tend to overlook the failures of employees, collaborators or suppliers in order to not face them and avoid conflict; the serious thing is that by avoiding these inconveniences the real problem becomes a much bigger one and then it cannot be controlled.
Not taking responsibility
When you assume the leadership of an area, enterprise or business it is essential to know that good and bad moments are the cause of all, because they are a team that works together for the same purpose; therefore, it is very serious when a leader indicates that some incident is the fault of a worker and not of him, so you must have confidence with the people you work with so that communication flows, and they can realize when something is not going well.
Overloading of tasks
Sometimes, the leaders tend to be very perfectionist, looking for everything to go well and not make any mistakes, about this, has been explained more in 3 reasons for which you should NOT be a perfectionist when undertaking a project; therefore they try to cover the majority of responsibilities and thus ensure that everything is done correctly, this is a blind spot that they are told to accept but is very common, for which it is necessary to realize and learn to delegate the functions within the area.
