Richard Branson is British, since very young he has been dedicated to business, he is an investor, a philanthropist, and works for more than four hundred companies from different sectors through his foundation Virgin Group, he likes to beat world records, he takes care of large companies and loves to break rules has an estimated value of 4.9 billion dollars; today we will share five rules that he puts into practice for success.

Keep it simple

Being dyslexic, Richard Branson needs that when starting a business everything is simple, things for him must be simple, when Virgin Group launches a new services company or a financial bank they do not use jargon, everything is very simple, very clear, that’s why people have an affinity for the Virgin Brand because they don’t speak with pride.

Always try in

In the book that Richard Branson wrote “Screw It, Let’s do it” he wants the people to understand that they have to try, sometimes it is a small amount of money that is needed to create a company, Richard’s mother one day found a bracelet on the street and handed it to the police, three months later like no one claimed it, the cops let the mother sell it and those hundreds of dollars were very important at a critical time in the development of the family business. So, it is always good to give it a try and be very lucky.

Being a leader

The most important thing when running a business is to remember what a company is, a company is a group of people and as a group leader you must be a good listener as we explained in our article Importance of active listening as a tool of a leader, you must be a great motivator, very good at praising and seeing the best in people, we must know that people are not very different from flowers if you water the flowers they bloom and if you praise people they prosper so it is a critical attribute in a leader.

Do not give up

Between success and failure there is a line when you start a business from scratch, if you don’t have the money to pay the bills you are on the wrong side of that line, and if you somehow get the money to pay the bills you are on the right side of that line; in the first days of starting a business, it is very likely that entrepreneurs will fall on the wrong side of the line but the important thing is that they fall and get up, that they keep trying until they succeed.

Delegate

It is important to know how to delegate and not to do it by yourself, we should always try to get better people than us, to be able to let them our business in an effective way and to have time to think in our next project; an entrepreneur is not a manager but he is someone good to think about new ideas, good ideas, to generate ideas to then give them to good managers who manage the business, at the moment that you have more than one business you cannot do everything completely.
